Our previous blog post talked about splurging, but here are some ideas for saving! Maybe saving money on your wedding will lead to upgrading on your honeymoon
10) Make sure you don’t visit an expensive wedding dress shop without a consultation first. The best way to choose a dress is to look online at dresses so you can find an affordable and beautiful dream dress! Looking online will give you an idea of what you want without having to go from store to store.
9) Don’t buy every pretty thing you see, though it may be tempting! In the end, you may not even use it. Buying things you need will keep you from overspending. When shopping, always keep your budget in mind.
8 ) Even the simplest thing can become excellent decorations for your wedding. For example, putting flowers on the walls! Don’t buy too many expensive decorations and instead try to be original with simple things.
7) The reception is a large part of your wedding budget. There are many options for receptions and the endless possibilities may become frustrating. If you already have a family or friend’s property or home to use for the reception, then you’re in luck. Use this option to save money! Spend the money you saved on other aspects of your wedding! Otherwise, try to choose a less expensive option.
6) Your menu is one of the most important things on your wedding day. Good food can be expensive, but the little packed foods that they usually serve at weddings are little and inexpensive! Buy some varied and high-flavoured foods and you’ll be surprised by the budget.
5) To cut back on guest favors and things, only invite people who really mean something to you. You shouldn’t worry about your aunt’s cousin’s brother!
4) Hiring too many waiters can cause confusion and stress. The greatest thing you could do about your budget is to buy a long table and serve the food on it. This way you don’t even need waiters.
3) Think about the season of your wedding. If you have your wedding in spring or summer, you may not have to pay for heating, which can become very expensive.
2) Printing invites and mailing them out can be expensive. Try to make your invitations look simple and well written! Instead of mailing all the invitations hand deliver the ones closest to you which will save on postage costs.
1) Finally, try to make everything more simple and easy to use. Luxury is often not necessary. A wedding is about the love between two people. Be determined to stay within the budget by being smart when planning.
